Chesney Giersthove is an Afro-European filmmaker, creative entrepreneur, and founder of The Rehearsalroom: a platform creating pathways for emerging actors, creatives and storytellers entering the creative industry.
With experience spanning multiple below-the-line roles across both national and international productions, Chesney has contributed to projects such as: Atlanta (Disney), A Small Light (National Geographic), Lekker met de meiden (Prime Video), De Regels van Floor, Fri Fri Suriname, and many more.
As a filmmaker, she went on to produce and direct several short films financed by different development programs such as: Fonds voor Cultuurparticipatie and Da Bounce Urban Film Festival. Her films were screened in cinemas throughout the Netherlands and England.
Chesney is currently developing her debut feature film through
NPA+, a highly selective development program supported by the
Dutch Film Fund and
